M E T R O P O L I T A N SEWER BOARD <br /> COST ALLOCATION FOR BUDGET YEAR 1972 <br /> DESCRIPTION OF CHARGES AND CREDITS <br /> This description of the charges and credits contained in your statement is <br /> • a summary of the billing principles contained in the Metropolitan Sewer Act, Chapter <br /> 449, 1969 Session Laws. <br /> • <br /> TREATMENT WORKS COSTS <br /> Treatment works costs include current maintenance costs, operating costs and <br /> debt service related to currently utilized treatment capacity. These costs are shared <br /> equally by all communities based upon use. <br /> (a) Gallonage - The number of million gallons per year to be treated from <br /> your community. <br /> (,h) Percent of Total - The percent your community's flow is to the total <br /> of all treated flow. <br /> (c) Amount - This is your community's share of the total current cost of <br /> sewage treatment found by applying the "percent of total" from (b) <br /> above to the total treatment costs. <br /> SEWER SERVICE AREA NO. <br /> The portion of the seven county area served by the "etropolitan Sewer <br /> Board is divided into six Sewer Service Areas: Minneapolis -St, Paul Service Area <br /> number 1, North Suburban Service Area number 2, Anoka Service Area number 3, Southwest <br /> Service Area number 4, Bloomington- Eagan - Burnsville Service Area number 5, and the <br /> Southeast Service Area number 6. <br /> Service area costs include current maintenance costs, operating costs and <br /> debt service related to currently utilized interceptor capacity. These costs are <br /> shared equally by all communities within the service area based upon use. <br /> (a) Gallonage - The number of million gallons per year to be intercepted <br /> from your community. - <br />
