CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> TUESDAY, OCTOBER 3, 1995 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City <br /> of Centerville held a public hearing and their regular meeting on Tuesday, October 3, 1995 <br /> at the City Hall. Acting Chairperson Welk called the public hearing to order at 7:07 p.m. <br /> PRESENT: Welk ABSENT: Tourville <br /> Vermeulen Drilling <br /> LaMotte <br /> FUBIJC HEARING - ATI ATE I,INOSAY,1687 SOREL, STREET <br /> Ms. Lindsay stated she was requesting a variance on her side yards and also a variance for <br /> the distance between the house and garage, There is not enough room to move the garage <br /> to the other side of her lot. Her neighbors lot is 6" from the lot line that separates the two <br /> of them. <br /> No other residents present regarding this issue. <br /> Public Hearing was closed at 7:15 p.m. <br /> Regular meeting was opened at 7:16 p.m. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> MOTION by Vermeulen, second by LaMotte to approve the September 12, 1995 meeting <br /> minutes. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> ,IUi,IF, LINDSAY, 1687 SOREL - VARIANCE REQUEST <br /> Mayor Wilharber stated that if a resident wants to improve their lot concessions have to be <br /> made. <br /> MOTION by LaMotte, second by Vermeulen to recommend to grant the variance request <br /> for the following reasons: <br /> • It is an improvement to her property. <br /> • The neighbors garage is 6" from the lot line. <br /> • Although she is in a commercial district it is being used for residential purposes and <br /> the garage is needed. <br /> • It is the old part of town and the placement of the houses on the lot cannot be helped <br /> now. <br /> • There are no neighbors disputing it. <br />
