163 PLANNING & ZONING COMMITTEE <br /> 164 MARCH 7, 1995 <br /> 165 PAGE 4 <br /> 166 <br /> 167 A copy of Ordinance 4, Appendix B was given to Vadnais with the <br /> 168 suggestion to take the following steps: propose a site plan to <br /> 169 City Council, the City would asked City Engineer for approval and <br /> 170 then the next step would be the building permit. <br /> 171 <br /> 172 Discuss Joint Meeting with City Council <br /> 173 P &Z suggested to meet with City Council to discuss the proposal <br /> 174 to rewrite the Comp Plan on Thursday, April 6th or Thursday, <br /> 175 April 20th. Helmbrecht stated to keep the cost down to rewrite <br /> 176 the Comp Plan as a City or using a college program. <br /> 177 <br /> 178 DISCUSSION: <br /> 179 <br /> 180 Golden Meadows <br /> 181 Welk asked if more policing can be requested in the problem area <br /> 182 of S. Robin Lane. Drilling stated that it won't change the <br /> 183 problem and that the City should put pressure on the County to <br /> 184 put better people in the houses. <br /> 185 <br /> 186 Councilmember Helmbrecht stated that HRA is being asked to buy <br /> 187 these houses from HUD and that HRA is locating homeless people <br /> 188 throughout Anoka County. Helmbrecht also added that she would <br /> 189 like to see seniors move into Centerville. <br /> 190 <br /> 191 Mayor Heineman <br /> 192 Councilmember Helmbrecht stated that Mayor Heineman has verbally <br /> 193 resigned. <br /> 194 <br /> 195 Lloyd Hansen Variance <br /> 196 Motion by Welk, second by LaMotte to grant a 3" variance and to <br /> 197 request a refund of the money for the variance. AYE - <br /> 198 Vermeullen, AYE - Tourville, NAY - Drilling. Motion carried. <br /> 199 <br /> 200 Noble Welding <br /> 201 Tourville stated Noble Welding wants to expand as long as they <br /> 202 meet the ordinance they would not have to appear before P &Z. And <br /> 203 also added, Noble Welding would have to speak with the Building <br /> 204 Inspector to clarify zoning and drainage requirements. <br /> 205 Councilmember Helmbrecht stated he should obtain the required <br /> 206 permits. <br /> 207 <br /> 208 Chairperson for 1995 <br /> 209 Motion by Drilling, second by Vermeulen to re -elect Tourville as <br /> 210 Chairman for the Planning and Zoning Committee. Motion carried <br /> 211 unanimously. Drilling expressed appreciation to Tourville for <br /> 212 all the work he has done for P &Z and the City of Centerville. <br /> 213 <br /> 214 Meeting Attendance <br /> 215 Tourville stated that attendance has been good in the past and is <br /> 216 good training and background for community activities.
