PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 1994 - 7:00 P.M. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING - REQUEST FOR VARIANCE <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning <br /> Commission of the City of Centerville held a public hearing on <br /> Tuesday, September 6, 1994 at the City Hall. The purpose of the <br /> hearing was to hear all persons present regarding a request for <br /> variances from Ordinance #4 as follows: <br /> 24. SCHEDULE OF REGULATIONS> <br /> (7a) All future new dwelling in R -1, R -2, R -3 Single <br /> Family Residential Districts shall have a double garage <br /> of a minimum of 440 square feet. <br /> To allow a garage to be constructed in the R -2 Single Family <br /> Residential District that is less than the 440 square feet <br /> requirement. The proposed structure is 315 square feet. <br /> and <br /> SCHEDULE OF DISTRICT REGULATIONS MINIMUM AREA OF STRUCTURES <br /> to allow a single family home to be constructed in the R -2 <br /> Single Family District that is less than the 1,050 square <br /> foot minimum ground floor area requirement. The proposed <br /> structure to be constructed is 834 square feet of minimum <br /> ground floor area. <br /> The property is legally described as follows: The west third of <br /> Lots 7, 8 and 9 Block 2 Centerville, subject to easement of <br /> record. Acting Chairperson Welk called the public hearing to <br /> order at 7:10 p.m. Present: Drilling, Vermeulen, Liaison <br /> Buckbee. Absent: LaMotte, Tourville. <br /> Sherry Olsen, 16836 Sodium Street, Ramsey, was present. Ms. <br /> Olsen explained that she is the real estate agent for the buyers. <br /> The lot is within the price range of the buyers, however the <br /> builder and the real estate agent where not aware of the minimum <br /> square foot requirements. The buyers have already enrolled their <br /> children in the Centerville Elementary School and the wife has <br /> obtained employment in White Bear Lake. The buyers have future <br /> plans to convert the tuck under garage into additional living <br /> space and add on a larger garage. <br /> No other persons where present in the audience. <br /> Motion by Drilling, second by Vermeulen to adjourn the public <br /> hearing, motion carried unanimously.
