PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 1994 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning <br /> Commission of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting <br /> on Tuesday, February 1, 1994 at the City Hall. Chairperson <br /> Tourville called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Present: <br /> LaMotte, Vermeulen, Welk, Council member Brenner. Absent: <br /> Drilling. <br /> MINUTES: <br /> January 4, 1994 meeting minutes. <br /> Motion by Vermeulen, second by LaMotte to approve the January 4, <br /> 1994 meeting minutes, AYE - LaMotte; AYE - Tourville; AYE - <br /> Vermeulen; ABSTAIN - Welk, motion carried. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Senior Housing - Sketch Plan - Consideration of Concept. <br /> The Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed information dated <br /> January 10, 1994 and January 24, 1994 from Richard Helgeson <br /> regarding a townhouse style senior housing development for the <br /> City of Centerville. <br /> Clerk /Administrator Tamara Miltz- Miller updated the Planning and <br /> Zoning Commission regarding a meeting she attended earlier today <br /> with Developer Richard Helgeson, City Engineer John Stewart and <br /> Council member Theresa Brenner. Ms. Miltz- Miller distributed the <br /> following: <br /> Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map; <br /> - Comprehensive Plan Medium and High Density Definition; <br /> - Comprehensive Plan map showing future use of proposed <br /> site; <br /> - and a document dated February 1, 1994 to Mr. Helgeson <br /> regarding City ordinances, procedures and policies. <br /> A copy of the above referenced information is on file with the <br /> Clerk /Administrator. <br /> Ms. Miltz - Miller noted that the zoning for the proposed site <br /> (south of Main Street) is appropriate. Ms. Miltz- Miller noted <br /> that townhomes are a "Permitted Use with a Special Use Permit ". <br /> Ms. Miltz- Miller explained the proposed site is not compatible <br /> with the current Comprehensive Plan - Future Land Use, with <br /> regard to designated areas for higher density. Ms. Miltz- Miller <br /> noted if the proposed site is pursued, an amendment to the <br /> Comprehensive Plan from Metropolitan Council may be required. <br /> Ms. Miltz- Miller advised that Ordinance #4, Article 5 PLANNED <br /> UNIT DEVELOPMENTS outlines the appropriate process for with this <br /> proposed project. <br />
