PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, JUNE 1. 1993 <br /> PUBLIC HEARING - REQUEST FOR VARIANCE - LOTS 7, E AND 9 BLOCK 2, <br /> CENTERVILLE. <br /> • <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Planning and Zoning <br /> Commission of the City of Centerville held a public hearing on <br /> Tuesday, June 1, 1993 at the City Hall. The purpose of the <br /> hearing was to hear all persons present regarding a request for <br /> variance from Ordinance #4, SCHEDULE OF DISTRICT REGULATIONS <br /> MINIMUM AREA OF STRUCTURES to allow a single family home to be <br /> relocated into the R2 Single Family Residential Zoning District <br /> that is less than 1,050 square foot minimum ground floor area <br /> requirement_ The proposed structure to be relocated is 768 <br /> square feet of minimum ground floor area. <br /> The property -is legally described as follows: <br /> The West third of Lots 7, 8 and 9 Block 2 Centerville, <br /> subject to easement of record_ <br /> Chairperson Tourville called the public hearing to order at 7:13 <br /> • <br /> p.m. Present: Vermeulen, Welk. Absent: Drilling, LaMotte. <br /> Chairperson Tourville summarized the request for variance to <br /> members of the P.Lannir.g and Zoning Commission and persons present <br /> in the audience. <br /> Cormier, ion member Welk questioned the rear setback illustrated in <br /> Gunnar Pett >r; e..', , Building Inspector, sketch demonstrating the <br /> buildable area_ Commis .ion member Welk inquired if the twenty <br /> (25 ) <br /> iv rear ,Yard setback requirement. apr' s +:-._ The sketch <br /> h <br /> • suggest'- a tee (10) foot rear yard setback requirement. <br /> a C'ui.'q aff Gunnar p+ . om s. Building inspector • ske bh <br /> t buildable area i <br /> illustrating b'�il. it r� attached to and made a part o1 <br /> this minutes_ <br /> • Ralph Wanless:, 1073 Humboldt Avenue, West St_ Paul, was present_ <br /> Mr_ Wanless noted that he proposes to relocate a 23 x 32 home <br /> onto the lot_ Mr_ Wanless will also be constructing a garage_ <br /> Mr. Wanless has not yet decided if the garage will be attached or <br /> • detached. Mr. Wanless noted that to meet the square footage <br /> requirement, the house would be long and skinny_ Mr_ Wanless <br /> noted that the home would - gutted". Mr_ Waniess will bring the <br /> house up to code, new wiring and plumbing will be installed_ The <br /> proposed house to be relocated is one story_ Mr_ Wanless noted <br /> that the basement will depend on the water table. Mr. Wanless <br /> would like to move the home on to the lot as soon as possible_ <br /> Mr. Wanless has purchased the lot and the home with the <br /> contingency that a variance is granted_ <br />
