MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE, MINNESOTA HELD ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 1993 AT 7:00 P.M. IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Centerville held a public hearing on Tuesday, February 2, 1993 at the City Hall. The purpose of the public hearing was to hear all persons present regarding the possibility of vacating and rerouting the northerly 660.00 feet (approximately) of Mill Road. The approximate 660.00 feet of Mill Road is located north of the intersection of Peltier Lake Drive and Mill Road. Acting Chairperson Welk called the public hearing to order at 7:04 p.m. Present: Vermeulen, LaMotte, Drilling, City Council Liaison Brenner. Absent: Tourville. Acting Chairperson Welk summarized the purpose of public hearing and asked for comments from members of the audience. The Planning and Zoning Commission noted receipt of the following written comments: - Darrell F. Schnieder, P.E., City of Lino Lakes, - Michael and Tina Scheller, 7267 Mill Road, - Lyn Gulsvig, 7246 Mill Road, - Fred Fischer, 7396 Mill Road. A copy of the above written comments is attached to and made a part of these minutes. Bob Surgstahler, 7381 Mill Road, was present_ Mr. Burgstahler noted that he liked the basic concept of having one road fronting the proposed lots, versus having a road abutting the front and rear of the proposed Iota. Mr. Burgstahler expressed that there appears to be a oa;ety problem with the current Mill Road. Mr. Burgstahler expressed that someday there may be an accident. Mr. Burgstahler noted that the northerly section of Mill Road will need to be reconstructed. Mr. Burgstahler communicated that he aces not like the right angle corners and suggested that an curve be incorporated. Mr_ Burgstahler, in his opinion, feels that the vacating and rerouting of Mil_ Road makes good sense in the long term. Larry Aubin, 7261 Mill Road, was present_ Mr. Aubin expressed concern: that car lights will shine directly into his living room from the proposed 73rd Street and Mill Road intersection. Mr. Aubin also exressed concern that if the intersection is slippery, he could end up with cars in hie front yard. Seth Zeug, 7294 Mill Read, was present. Ms. Zeug noted that she likes the concept of having the read dead end north of her ::roperty_ Ms_ Zeug explained that area residents have expressed eencern to her about the preserving of the trees. The residents have expressed that they are happy the trees are being preserved. •
