P&Z MEETING MINUTES <br /> FEBRUARY 2, 1993 <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> Ms. Zeug further explained that many area residents have <br /> expressed a desire for a walkway along the creek. Ms_ Zeug noted <br /> she would like to have a drainage easement east of her home <br /> included in the plan_ <br /> Ted Erkenbrack, 7377 Peltier Circle, was present. Mr. Erkenbrack <br /> explained that they have spent a lot of time and money on the <br /> placement of their home along Clearwater Creek. Mr. Erkenbrack <br /> has windows that face Clearwater Creek Mr. Erkenbrack expressed <br /> that by vacating and rerouting Mill Road, the City will be <br /> putting people "down their back door ". Mr. Erkenbrack expressed <br /> that he likes the tree line. Mr_ Erkenbrack noted that the issue <br /> of safety has been expressed at the meeting. Mr. Erkenbrack <br /> questioned the safety of rerouting Mill Road through a more <br /> densely populated residential development_ Mr. Erkenbrack noted <br /> that he is opposed to the vacating and rerouting of Mill Road. <br /> Pat Fruth, 7384 Mill Road, was present. Mr. Fruth expressed <br /> concern regarding the accessibility for the Centerville and Lino <br /> Lakes residents located to the north of the proposed Mill Road <br /> vacation_ Mr. Fruth expressed concern about emergency vehicles l <br /> access. Mr. Fruth stated that because the northerly portion of <br /> Mill Road only services a few homes, does not make the vacating <br /> and rerouting right. <br /> Jim Carlson, 7389 Mill Road. was present_ Mr. Carlson, asked that <br /> the reason for vacating and rerouting of Mill Road be explained. <br /> Mr. Carlson also asked what the projected costs for <br /> reconstructing Mill Road may be. <br /> John Stewart, City Engineer, was present_ Mr. Stewart noted that <br /> it was his recollection that the reason for the City considering <br /> the vacating and rerouting of Mill Road was based upon the road <br /> being a poor use of land. Mr_ Stewart noted that in 1987 the <br /> estimated cost for reconstruction was approximately $40.00 per <br /> square foot. yr. Stewart also noted that another barrier is <br /> required at an approximate cost of $5.000.00. Mr_ Stewart <br /> further noted that this section of Mill Road is net the most <br /> stable piece of ground. There is concern with the drop off. Mr. <br /> Stewart noted there also appears tc be a sight problem with the <br /> incline on Mill Road. Mr_ Stewart explained that Mill Road would <br /> require a flatter grade_ Mr. Stewart also noted that Mill Road <br /> is a collector street, but i3 not built to City collector street <br /> standards of 36 feet wide_ Mr. Stewart noted that Mill Read is <br /> only 22 feet in wide in that area Mr. Stewart noted that there <br /> are significant engineering issues with Mill Road. 1 <br /> Bob Burgstahler noted that an alternative could be to approve the <br />
