Mr. Fritchie asked <br /> questions about the Vermeulen property located at 1645 Peltier <br /> Lake Drive. Mr. Fritchie noted that it appeared the proposed <br /> building would be in line with the adjacent properties, therefore <br /> he sees no problem with granting the variance. <br /> Chairperson Tourville noted that the purpose of the public <br /> hearing was to consider the issue before the Planning and Zoning <br /> Commission. The issue being the granting of a variance to <br /> construct a single family home approximately 39 feet from the <br /> lake. <br /> Motion by Vermeulen, second by Welk to adjourn the public <br /> hearing, motion carried unanimously. Hearing adjourned 7:28 p.m. <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Planning and Zoning <br /> Commission of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting <br /> on Tuesday, June 9, 1992 at the City Hall. Chairperson Tourville <br /> called the meeting to order at 7:29 p.m. Present: Drilling, <br /> LaMotte, Vermeulen, Welk. <br /> Motion by Vermeulen, second by Drilling to approve the May 12, <br /> 1992 meeting minutes, AYE - Vermeulen; AYE - Drilling; AYE- <br /> ' Tourville; ABSTAIN - LaMotte; ABSTAIN - Welk. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Bequest for Variance - Steve Marcell° - 1588 Peltier Lake Drive - <br /> to construct a single family home approximately thirty nine (39) <br /> feet from the lake <br /> Motion by Drilling, second by Vermeulen to recommend to the City <br /> Council that Steve Marcello's request for an eleven foot variance <br /> from Ordinance #4, Section 34.01 -3 - to construct a single family <br /> lake be granted <br /> e e versus fit <br /> home thirty nine feet Y feet from the 1 <br /> based on the following criteria: <br /> - special conditions and circumstances exist which are <br /> peculiar to the land involved and do not result from <br /> actions of the petitioner. The lot is only 125 feet <br /> deep; <br /> - literal interpretation of the provisions of this <br /> ordinance would deprive the petitioner of rights <br /> commonly enjoyed by other properties in the same <br /> district under the terms of this ordinance. The <br /> neighboring properties enjoy the same setbacks; <br /> g g P ro P <br /> - granting the variance requested will not confer on the <br /> applicant any special privilege that is denied by this <br /> ordinance to other lands, structures or building in the <br /> same district; <br />
