• <br /> • <br /> • <br /> P &Z Meeting Minutes <br /> March 10, 1992 <br /> page two <br /> The approval of the February 11, 1992 meeting minutes was tabled <br /> until the next meeting. <br /> • <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Rezoning Request - Dennis Wegan <br /> Chairperson Tourville asked Mr. Wegan if it would be necessary <br /> for any variances from the Zoning Ordinance in order to build a <br /> single family home on the property. <br /> proposed single family Mr. Wegan noted that the prop g Y home would meet <br /> all the setback requirements and minimum building size <br /> requirements of the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> Chairperson Tourville asked Mr. Wegan if he had spoken with the <br /> Building Inspector about his plans to build a single family home. <br /> Committee member Welk noted that the proposed size of the single <br /> family home should meet the setback requirements. <br /> Chairperson Tourville suggested that it may be simpler to grant a <br /> • variance to the zoning district (C -1) to allow for a single <br /> family home. <br /> Sauna Buckbee, Assistant City Clerk, noted that in her opinion, a <br /> variance can not be granted to a zoning district as to the use. <br /> Chairperson Tourville noted that this area of the City is not a <br /> highly travelled area. The location may be more appropriate for <br /> a business similar to Rivard Electric. It appeared to <br /> Chairperson Tourville that it may be years before a commercial <br /> use would work in the older downtown area of Centerville. <br /> Committee member LaMotte noted that he would be in favor of <br /> recommending to the City Council the rezoning of the property. <br /> Committee member Vermeulen noted that she would not be opposed to <br /> the rezoning. <br /> g <br /> Committee member Welk suggested that it may be logical to rezone <br /> the house to the north to residential also. <br /> Chairperson Tourville noted that it would be appropriate to <br /> contact the property owner before considering rezoning of the <br /> property. <br /> Committee member Welk noted that it may be okay to keep the <br /> property to the north of the proposed rezoning as commercial, in <br /> case Rivard Electric should ever want to expand. <br />
