ORDINANCE 34, ARTICLE 3, SECTION 36.06 NOW READS: IMPROVEMENT AND MAINTENANCE. Required parking and loading spaces, together with driveways, aisles, and other circulation areas, shall be improved in such a way as to provide a durable and dust -free surface. All parking and loading areas shall provide for proper drainage of surface water to prevent the drainage of such water onto adjacent properties or walkways. The owner of any parking or loading area shall maintain the area in good condition without holes and free of all dust, trash, and other debris. AMEND TO READ: IMPROVEMENT AND MAINTENANCE. 36.06 -1 Required parking and loading spaces, together with driveways, aisles, and other circulation areas, shall be constructed of bituminous or concrete and meet the specifications of the City Engineer. The driveways shall be completed prior to issuance of a certificate of occupancy, weather permitting. 36.06 -2 All parking and loading areas shall provide for proper drainage of surface water to prevent the drainage of such water onto adjacent properties or walkways. The owner of any parking or loading area shall maintain the area in good condition without holes and free of all dust, trash, and other debris. 36.06 -3 All driveways abutting City street prior to adoption of this amendment shall construct a driveway apron to extend from the street to the property line (within the street right -of -way). The apron shall be constructed of bituminous or concrete and shall meet the specifications of the City Engineer. Construction of the driveway apron will be the responsibility of the abutting property owner. The property owner shall be allowed a period of three (3) years after adoption of this amendment to construct the apron. If after a period of three (3) years the apron is not installed, the City shall initiate construction and asses the cost to the abutting property owner.
