Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the Planning and Zoning <br /> Commission of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting <br /> on Tuesday, December 4, 1990 at the City Hall. Chairperson <br /> Tourville called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Present: <br /> Drilling, Vermeulen, Welk, Wilharber. <br /> Motion by Wilharber, second by Drilling to approve the September <br /> 4, 1990 meeting minutes, Tourville - aye; Wilharber - aye; <br /> Drilling - aye; Welk - abstain; Vermeulen - abstain; motion <br /> carried. <br /> Motion by Vermeulen, second by Wilharber to approve the November <br /> 7, 1990 meeting minutes, Wilharber - aye; Drilling - aye; Welk - <br /> aye; Vermeulen - aye; Tourville - abstain; motion carried. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Golden Meadows - Sketch Plan - Gerald Rehbein <br /> Gerald Rehbein, developer, was present. Mr. Rehbein told the <br /> Commission that he has revised his sketch plan for the proposed <br /> Golden Meadows Development. The eight -plex units that were <br /> presented before would not sell as fast as the single level <br /> townhomes. The single level units would have a two stall garage <br /> and a back door with patio. There would be four units to a <br /> building. There would be no stairs, and the units would have <br /> windows on all sides. The price range would be $10,000 to <br /> $15,000 more than the previously proposed eight -plex units. This <br /> would put the selling price range for these units in the low <br /> $60,000 to mid $70,000. There still would be a homeowners <br /> agreement. <br /> Commission member Vermeulen asked Mr. Rehbein were he would <br /> propose recreational facilities. <br /> Mr. Rehbein stated that the recreational facilities would be east <br /> of 20th Avenue off of Wacota Drive. <br /> Commission member Vermeulen questioned what the exterior of the <br /> building would be. <br /> Mr. Rehbein presented the Commission with sketch plans of the <br /> proposed units. There is to a 10 x 12 cement patio, the units <br /> would be two bedroom with an optional fireplace. <br /> Mr. Rehbein asked the Commission if they wanted townhomes in this <br /> area, or would they prefer apartment buildings. Mr. Rehbein <br /> stated that he was contacted by a person who is looking to build <br /> apartment buildings in either Centerville or Hugo. <br /> Commission member Vermeulen stated that personally she would not <br /> prefer apartment buildings. - <br /> Mr. Rehbein stated that with his revised sketch plan the <br /> development could be completed in six phases. <br />
