Pursuant to due call and notice there of the Planning and Zoning <br /> Commission of the City of Centerville held a public hearing on <br /> Thursday, July 12, 1990 at City Hall. The purpose of the hearing <br /> was to hear all persons present regarding the possibility of <br /> rezoning the property described as follows: <br /> The West half of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest <br /> Quarter of Section 24, Township 31, Range 22, Anoka <br /> County, Minnesota, which lies Northerly of the <br /> following described line: commencing at the Northwest <br /> corner of said Northwest Quarter of the Northwest <br /> Quarter of Section 24; thence proceeding South along <br /> the West line of said Northwest Quarter of the <br /> Northwest Quarter for 766.0 feet to the point of <br /> beginning of the line to be described; thence <br /> proceeding East and parallel with the North line of <br /> said Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter to the <br /> East line of said West half of the Northwest Quarter of <br /> the Northwest Quarter and said line there terminating. <br /> and lying east of the Royal Meadows development and 20th <br /> Avenue, north of Main Street, and presently in the MUSA *. <br /> The proposed rezoning will be from Industrial to Single <br /> Family Residential Sewered (R -2). The proposed land use <br /> will be to build a Planned Unit Development consisting of <br /> eight -plex units. <br /> * Metropolitan Urban Service Area <br /> PUBLTC HEARING <br /> Chairman Tourville called the hearing to order at 7:03 p.m. <br /> Present: Wilharber, Vermeulen, Welk, liaison Pelton. Absent: <br /> Drilling. <br /> Chairman Tourville summarized the proposed rezoning to the <br /> Commission and audience members. <br /> Gerald Rehbein, developer, was present. Mr. Rehbein stated that <br /> the reason for his applying for the rezoning was that it appeared <br /> that his request for high density multi- family housing would be <br /> consistent with Centerville's Comprehensive Plan - Future Land <br /> Use Plan. Mr. Rehbein presented a schematic design to the <br /> Planning and Zoning Commission and members of the audience did <br /> view this plan. <br /> Chairman Tourville noted that this area is presently in the <br /> Metropolitan Urban Service Area, but that sewer and water would <br /> need to be extended to this area. The proposed use would be <br /> under the Planned Unit Development (PUD) section of Ordinance #4. <br /> Commission member Vermeulen questioned Mr. Rehbein if the units <br /> would be privately owned. <br /> Mr. Rehbein stated that they would be privately owned. The units <br /> would consist of three different styles. <br />
