Page Three
P &Z Meeting Minutes
December 5, 1989
Chairman Tourville also felt that the City should balance out the
100 acre MUSA expansion between Residential, Commercial, and
Industrial zoned areas.
It appeared to be the general consensus of the Commission that
the developers of Acorn Creek, and the owners of the property to
the east should try to work together so that there could be an
East /West collector street which should alleviate any increase in
traffic on Mill Road.
Commission member Vermeulen expressed that she would like to see
this south side of the proposed development zoned R2, and create
a new zoning district for the north section with larger
executive - type homes.
Commission member Welk agreed with Commission member Vermeulen
and noted that Peterson Trail is not designated a collector
street.
Cliff Thatcher expressed that $250,000 homes would not fit in
with the Harstad Development and that this would be economically
impossible for the developer.
Liaison Pelton expressed that whatever it is zoned she would like
to see the natural vegetation preserved (ie trees). She
expressed that the plan seemed to meet the Comprehensive Plan,
but questioned as to whether the south half would meet the
Comprehensive Plan.
Chairman Tourviile questioned as to whether there had been any
topographical surveys.
Cliff Thatcher stated that there has not been a topographical
survey, but that there was a feasibility study done about 1 1/2
to 2 years ago, with the lower elevations designated for ponding.
Motion by Vermeulen, second by Welk to adjourn the public
hearing, motion carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 8:15
p.m.
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning
Commission of the City of Centerville held their regular
scheduled meeting on December 5, 1989 at City Hall. Chairman
Tourville called the meeting to order at 8:20 p.m. Present:
Vermeulen, Drilling, Welk, Wilharber, liaison Pelton.
Motion by Drilling, second by Vermeulen to approve the minutes of
the November 9, 1989 meeting. Tourviile - aye, Vermeulen - aye,
Drilling - aye, Welk - aye, Wilharber - abstain, motion carried.
