Page Five
P &Z Meeting Minutes
December 5, 1989
Discussion on the Codification of Ordinances. It appeared to be
the general consensus of the Commission that this is too costly.
The Commission would like to see City Staff continue with the
retyping of Ordinances and would like to have them follow the
format of Ordinance #4, as far as amendments are concerned.
Motion by Drilling, second by Wilharber to drop the Codification
of Ordinances as it appears to be to costly to be done, motion
carried unanimously.
Discussion on the Centerville Residential Development Guide.
Chairman Tourville summarized to the commission the idea behind
having a Residential Development Guide.
Motion by Tourville, second by Drilling to table the discussion
of the Centerville Residential Development Guide till the next
meeting, motion carried unanimously.
Discussion on the Centerville Commercial /Industrial Development
Guide. It appeared to be the general consensus of the commission
that having this guide was a very good idea.
Tamara Miltz- Miller, Clerk/ Administrator was present and
summarized the guide, explaining that the guide was not in final
draft, and that approval is not what was asked. The City Council
would like suggestions, changes, and direction from Planning and
Zoning.
Motion by Welk, second by Drilling to recommend to the City
Council the acceptance of the concept of a Commercial /Industrial
Development Guide, with the addition of dating pages as there are
updated, motion carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
A short discussion on the proposed rezoning of the 37 acres north
of the Centerville Heights development. Commission member
Drilling expressed that the developer should not dicate to the
Commission which way the property has to be developed, and that
the Comprehensive Plan should be reviewed.
Liaison Felton expressed concern over reviewing of the
Comprehensive Plan, that many people had worked on this, public
hearings were held, and that the Comprehensive Plan was adopted
through a very democratic way and should not be taken lightly.
It appeared to be the general consensus not to discuss R2A
zoning, that R2 is the zoning they would prefer in this area.
