r <br /> P & 7, Meeting Minutes <br /> Page 4 <br /> August 2, 1988 <br /> discuss land areas that abutt Centervillo, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Mort Huber, Acorn Investments, presented a plan for a development <br /> to be named Acorn Creek, proposed to be developed north of <br /> Centerville Heights and formerly named Creekwood, He stated that <br /> his company had traded a piece of land in Wyoming, Minnesota for <br /> this <br /> area He also stated that he wants advise and/or help from <br /> the Commission to get the project done properly and as soon as <br /> Possible. <br /> Chairman Tourville reviewed what had happened with the Creekwood <br /> plan. Because it was zoned Rural Residential (10 acre lots), and <br /> the Comprehensive Plan would have had to be amended, the City <br /> Council decided to wait until the planner was on board before <br /> approving any plan for Creekwbod. <br /> Mr. Huber stated that he has given fifteen prints of the <br /> dev to the City Clerk and paid escrow to the city to get <br /> the ball rolling on a Planner Report. <br /> Brian Miller, City Engineer, stated that the Planner Report will • <br /> be ready for the next City Council meeting which is scheduled for <br /> August 10. <br /> Council liaison Wilharber stated that an impact Study was done by <br /> the City Engineers to determine if Mill Road could handle the <br /> increased traffic that Creekwood and/or other developments in the <br /> area would generate. The findings were challenged by residents. <br /> Neither the City nor the developer wanted to put any more money <br /> into it and decided to wait for the planner. <br /> City Engineer Miller stated that it appears that Metro Council is <br /> starting to agree that Centerville is growing and will grow at a <br /> faster rate than expected. <br /> Drilling stated that nothing is changed unless the plan changes <br /> to add traffic flow to the east. <br /> Vermeulen is not opposed to the plan, but wants to see the <br /> planner report. <br /> Lindgren asked Richard Chromey, F & R Development, Inc., 1710- <br /> 123rd Ave. NE (the developer who wants to develop the area north <br /> of Royal Meadows) if they are east of Acorn.
