A lengthy discussion of width for streets, cul -de -sac as opposed to looping Brian Way, traffic flow, etc. followed. There appeared to be a difference in interpretation of the part of the Planners report (pg. 2, ist para.) which discusses phases of approval for the development. Vermeulen and Drilling feel that the planners are ask.ng that the city wait, and John Stewart and Chairman Tourville feel that they are suggesting the city approve the south portion, presently in the MUSA, so that construction can begin. Vermeulen and Lindgren both commented that we just changed to 11,500 foot lots and now we are being asked to lower our standards by averaging from 10,000 up to and over 11,500. Chairman Tourvilbe called a recess at 9:00 p.m. Meeting resumed at 9:13 p.m. A short discussion concerning MUSA extensions and the need for more homes to be hooked up to City water followed Motion by Vermeulen, second by Lindgren to set a public hearing for September o, 1988 for rezoning the south one-hall of the proposed Rehbein development, which is presently in the MUSA, from Commercial to R -2A Residential, motion carried unanimously. After more discussion, Vermeulen withdrew the motion and Lindgren withdrew his second. Motion by Lindgren, second by Drilling to hold a special meeting Tuesday, August 23, 1938 for a public hearing to discuss rezoning the south ten acres of the proposed Rehbein development which is presently in the MUSA, from Commercial to R -2A Residential, (notion carried unanimously. Motion by Lindgren, second by Vermeulen to hold a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. on August 23, 1988 between the City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission, with the City Planner, the City Engineer, and Barry Bloomquist (Attorney for North Branch) to
