P <br /> P & Z Meeting Minutea <br /> Page 3 <br /> May 3, 1988 <br /> P & Z tabled discussion of vacating a portion of Westview <br /> because Robert Phillips, who requested the vacation, was not <br /> present. City Office was asked to research whether this vacation <br /> took place some time ago. Several members of P & Z are certain <br /> that it did. <br /> Discussion of Sketch Plan for proposed Rehbein development south <br /> of Main Street and east of Brian Drive. <br /> City Engineer and Commission members expressed concerns about <br /> flood plain, dead -end street, long cul -de -sacs, how Municipal <br /> Water could be brought to the site, rezoning, etc. <br /> Motion by Lindgren to recommend to City Council that a <br /> feasibility study of the proposed Rehbein development be done. <br /> Motion failed, lack of second. <br /> Motion by Vermeulen, second by Welk, to table the matter for <br /> further discussion. After more questions from Mr. Rehbein, <br /> Vermeulen withdrew the motion and Welk withdrew the second. <br /> Motion by Lindgren, second by Drilling to recommend to the City <br /> Council that a feasibility study, paid for by the developer, for <br /> phases 1 and 2 of the proposed Rehbein development south of Main <br /> Street be done, motion carried unanimously. <br /> Discussion of Sketch Plan for a residential development by Kenco <br /> Construction between Centerville Road and Central Park. <br /> Bob Barett, 6953 Centerville Road, and Marcel Rivard, 7072 <br /> Progress Road were present and, along with the Commission, <br /> expressed concerns about the two landlocked parcels (one of which <br /> is owned by Mr. Barett). Kent Roessler of Kenco Construction was <br /> present and stated he was willing to work with neighboring <br /> property owners. <br /> Motion by Drilling, second by Welk recommending Kenco <br /> Construction go to the City Council with the concept of an R -2 <br /> residential development and request a MUSA extension, motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> Discussion of Bob Barett request for variance to erect a shed on <br /> his back lot. Commission told him that because there is no <br /> access to the lot, he cannot build on it unless he changes the <br /> title and combines his lots under one PIN number. Mr. Barett <br /> stated that he knows what his next step has to be and he will <br /> wait and see what happens. <br /> Motion by Vermeulen, second by Welk to make recommendation to the <br /> City Council that rezoning of Central Park to P -1 be done -P--&- <br /> L <br />
