PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES WEDNESDAY, JULY 6, 1994 - 6:30 P.M. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Park and Recreation Committee of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, July 6, 1994 at the City Hall. Chairperson Dixon called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Present: Drilling, Larson, Thompson, Reisdorfer. Absent: Navin, Pelton. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Approval of June 1, 1994 meeting min tes. Motion by Dixon, second by Larson to approve the June 1, 1994 meeting minutes, motion carried unanimously. APPEARANCES: Paul Palzer, Public Works Director /Building Inspector. 1. Removal of sand in hockey rink. Mr. Palzer will check with local contractors and get bids as to what it will cost and report back at our August meeting. Quotes should include leveling the rink. 2. Posts at ice rink. Per Mr. Palzer, posts around the south side of the rink are coming up from the ice upheaval. Mr. Palzer will give us our options with quoted prices at our next meeting. 3. Concrete slab by restrooms at Central Park. Mr. Palzer feels that the cracks are caused by poor concrete ' mix. The Park and Recreation Committee will include monies in their 1995 budget to replace the slab. OLD BUSINESS: North Metro Recreation - Request to waive Park Key Deposit. Carl Saarion, North Metro Recreation Chairperson, introduced himself to the Park and Recreation Committee. Mr. Saarion noted he would like to promote good communication between North Metro Recreation and the Park and Recreation Committee. Mr. Saarion requested the key deposit be waived, since North Metro Recreation is part of the City. Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Drilling to keep the key deposit in tack, motion carried unanimously. Mr. Saarion requested the use of the ballfields in the fall for adult softball. Mr. Saarion requested the following dates: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday starting August 1st through September 30th.
