P &R MEETING MINTUES JULY 7, 1993 PAGE TWO OLD BUSINESS 1993 Park and Recreation Budget. Motion by Navin, second by Dixon to recommend to the City Council the following 1993 Park and Recreation Line Item Budget: Maintenance $7,500.00 to include maintenance salaries, utilities, phone, rink attendant salaries and maintenance supplies. Water Tower Park Improvements $12,000.00 Stipends $ 500.00 Royal Meadows Park $ 3,000.00 Central Park Security Lights $ 2,000.00 Picnic Tables at Water Tower Park $ 1,000.00 The remainder in miscellaneous, motion carried unanimously. Landscape Structures - Installation of Water Tower Park EauiDment - Update. The park equipment has been ordered. The park equipment will be delivered in about four weeks. The Park and Recreation Committee will plan to install the equipment on August 14, 1993. Committee member Drilling will make fliers, place advertisements in the local papers and handle the general organization of the project. Northern States Power Company - Possible Rebate - Hockey Rink Lights at Central Park. It was noted that no rebate is available because it is not at a peak time and the lights are not always required. Centerville Lions Club - Request for Donation. No action has been taken at this time. Committee member Navin will try to attend the Centerville Lions July meeting and request funds. Committee member Larson will investigate funds through the Centennial Fire Department. Comprehensive Park and Trailway Plan. It was noted that since Ms. Pelton has resigned from the Comprehensive Park and Trailway Plan Committee, Committee member Larson has not heard anything out the status of the Committee. The Park and Recreation Committee would like the City Council to advise as to the status of the Comprehensive Park and Trailway Committee. The Park and Recreation Committee expressed a concern about the trail to the existing fishing pier. It appears to be dangerous with children riding their bikes.
