P &R MEETING MINTUES <br /> JULY 7, 1993 <br /> PAGE THREE <br /> Committee member Drilling will contact Anoka County regarding <br /> this concern. <br /> Request for Signs at Royal Meadows Park. <br /> The Park and Recreation Committee expressed that it would be <br /> impossible to place a sign big enough to explain how people <br /> should act in the parks. The Park and Recreation Committee noted <br /> that common sense should be used by people who use the park. It <br /> was noted that the Circle Pines /Lexington Police Department <br /> should be contacted if it seems necessary. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Five Year Capital Improvement Plan. <br /> The Park and Recreation Committee feels that guidance and <br /> information is needed from the City Council. Due to the fact <br /> that a Comprehensive Park Plan is not completed, and the Park and <br /> Recreation Committee has no idea of the type of funds available <br /> or if more land will be purchased for Central Park, it would be <br /> impossible to do prepare a five year capital improvement plan. <br /> 1994 Budget. <br /> Tabled. <br /> Maier. Stewart and Associates - Bill in the amount of $743.60. <br /> The Park and Recreation Committee questioned the park funds paid <br /> to Maier, Stewart and Associates on May 26, 1993 in the amount of <br /> $743.60. The Park and Recreation Committee does not recall <br /> approving said expenditure. <br /> Maintenance - Mowing Park Land. <br /> The Park and Recreation Committee noted that there have been <br /> complaints that the parks have not been kept mowed as regular as <br /> needed. <br /> The Park and Recreation Committee noted that if the City is <br /> strapped for City maintenance personnel funds, that maybe the <br /> Park and Recreation Committee should investigate utilizing an <br /> outside contractor. <br /> Committee member Navin will meet with City Council member Tom <br /> Dario and Public Works Director Orville Hughes to discuss the <br /> situation. <br /> There was a long discussion with Mayor John Buckbee regarding who <br /> should direct the maintenance of the parks. <br /> The Park and Recreation COmmittee wants all maintenance to be <br /> directed by the Clerk /Administrator.
