P &R MEETING MINUTES <br /> JUNE 2, 1993 <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> Planting of Trees - Complaint by 1876 Prairie Drive. <br /> The Park and Recreation Committee discussed a policy for citizens <br /> requesting the planting of trees on park property adjacent to <br /> their own property. <br /> The following policy was discussed: <br /> 1. The planting is to be done by the donor. <br /> 2. The size, type and location of trees must be approved <br /> by the Park and Recreation Committee. <br /> 3. Care and maintenance of the trees are the <br /> responsibility of the done for the first year. <br /> 4. If the tree dies, neither the donor or the Park and <br /> Recreation Committee are responsible for replacement. <br /> The Park and Recreation Committee would like the donors to sign a <br /> statement saying that they understand the above requirements. <br /> Committee member Drilling will investigate the cost and size of a <br /> plaque for recognition of persons making a donation to the parks. <br /> Motion by Reisdorfer, second by Drilling to approve the Downing's <br /> plan to plant three black spruce trees as described, with the <br /> condition that the six foot tree must be centered no less than <br /> eight feet from the property line to allow for City grass <br /> cutting, motion carried unanimously. <br /> Request that the Park and Recreation Committee publish a schedule <br /> of time and days that the fields at Central Park are being used. <br /> The Park and Recreation Committee requests the <br /> Clerk /Administrator to direct City staff to do this posting. The <br /> information can be attained from the previous meeting minutes. <br /> The following have been approved for use: <br /> 1. Centennial Little League. <br /> 2. Kelly's Korner. <br /> 3. Neil Reisdorfer for June 12, 1993. <br /> Also using the facility is the Centennial Soccer League. <br /> North Metro Recreation Commission - Area Wide Network for Use of <br /> Fields <br /> The Park and Recreation Committee noted that if the North Metro <br /> Recreation Commission would like to use the fields, they should <br /> be placed on the Agenda and discuss the issue with the Park and <br /> Recreation Committee. <br /> Acorn Creek Park <br /> The Park and Recreation Committee would like the City Council to <br /> explain the decision made at their May 12, 1993 meeting.
