Minutes <br /> of the <br /> PARK & RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> January 10, 1989 <br /> Present: Steve Dixon Gerry LaTendre <br /> Dan Kupfer Lisa Smith <br /> Mayor George Haberman, Council Liason <br /> Audience: Carol Pelton <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7 :20 p.m. Motion by Kupfer <br /> to accept December minutes as written. Second by LaTendre, <br /> unanimously accepted. <br /> New committee members being present, it was decided that Steve <br /> Dixon act as. Chairperson, Cindy Paschke as Treasurer and Lisa <br /> Smith as Secretary. All in favor and accepted. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> A financial report was unavailable, as Cindy was absent. Exact <br /> standing regarding available funds for 1989 wil be discussed <br /> at the next meeting. Pelton did note that the first payment <br /> of a $12,000 deferred billing will be paid within a couple of <br /> weeks. <br /> Dixon noted that the first flooding of the hockey rink was to <br /> begin tonight. Thought he couldn't give a definite date, <br /> Dixon mentioned that the rink may be available for use after <br /> Saturday or Sunday (Jan. 14th or 15th), depending on weather <br /> and other factors associated with proper flooding procedures. <br /> Pelton added that the press has offered to run an announcement, <br /> letting the public know the anticipated date of the opening. <br /> During the last meeting it was decided that more hose would be <br /> needed and Steve has indicated that additional hose would be <br /> needed. Dixon has stated that it has been obtained from the <br /> fire department. <br /> A plaque for the rink needs to be designed and though no progress <br /> has been made thus far, Gerry has agreed to research various de- <br /> signs, costs, actual placement, etc. <br /> Three letters of thanks will be written, one to each of the following =. <br /> Sunny Debruzzi & Ross Contracting, Gary Barrett, and Dick Garley <br />
