PARK AND RECREATION MEETING
Tuesday, December 9, 1986 7:00 p.m.
Present: Carol Pelton Leon L'Allier
Floyd Kruger
Absent: Maureen Asleson Larry Koch
Lloyd Welk
Meeting was called to order. Before we began discussing the items on the
adgenda, Floyd Kruger announced that he was intending to submit his
resignation to the City Council and would not be serving on the park and
recreation committee as of January 1, 1987. We regret the departure of
such a valuable and long serving man from the committee and will surely
miss his experience, knowledge and hours of hard works.
The petition form LaMotte Drive was discussed again. The following are
the steps to be or that have been taken to address the issues raised in the
petition.
A. Parking on one side of the Drive was disscussed in earlier
meetings and as a result the city of Lino Lakes was asked to extend no
parking the entire length of the Drive as was Centerville's existing policy.
Both cities posted the road as such, but some of the residents requested
the signs be removed in front of their homes and some signs were removed.
The policy is still in effect that there is no parking along the western side
of LaMotte Drive.
B. No alcohol is currently allowed on park property except by permit.
We suggest that this policy remain intaut.
C. Park hours should be changed to reflect the following:
General hours: 6 am to 10 pm
Special use /beer permit hours: 8 am to 10 pm
These are the hour for set up, activity and cleanup. The park must be
vacated by 10 pm.
D. Police will be notified when special use /beer permits are issued
and a copy of the permit will be supplied for them on the date of the event
so they will provide more frequent drivebys.
A motion was made by Pelton and seconded by Kruger to suggest the above
policy be adopted by the council; vote to accept 2 - 0.
