Playbooster Aluminum is constructed of aluminum with an outer core of different material. Aluminum is low maintenance. Redwood is 15% cheaper but requires more maintenance. The playground equipment is manufactured in Delano. The playground equipment could be picked up by the City, as the salesman felt it would fit into the City truck, if the Park and Recreation Committee would like to save the freight costs. The following were discussed from Landscape Structures Catalog: Item Number Cost Freight 9108 $11,000 9102 $ 4,500 9178 $10,000 $150.00 (possibly free) Installation $250.00 a day for a foreman directing volunteers. Would require five (5) volunteers. A sand box was discussed. The sand box would require twelve (12) inches of sand and two (2) six (6) by six (6) cedar /redwood timber boards. Insurance /Guarantee /Liability was discussed. Landscape Structures offers a ten (10) year guarantee on the posts, etc. This is an industry standard guarantee. The delivery /shipment time is thirty (30) days. It was noted that starting January 26, 1992 every playground must have the following: - transfer points onto equipment from a wheelchair and back to wheelchair; - wheelchair path to equipment There could be a 3 -4% price increase if ordered in 1992. The Park and Recreation Committee is to send an itemized list of desired future equipment and receive a plan for the playground equipment. The Park and Recreation Committee questioned if they could order the equipment now and build it later. The Park and Recreation Committee would like Landscape Structures to provide prices for: Model Number 9178, with handicapped accessible adjustments, (Six person swing), for the first year.
