To: City of Centerville Mayor (Tom Wilharber),
City of Centerville Councilmember (Terry Sweeney),
City of Centerville Administrator (Jim March),
Centerville Park & Rec (Doug Porter, Karla DeVine,
Wayne LeBlanc, Tedd Peterson, Brian Walter)
Anoka County Parks (John Von Delinde),
Anoka County Commissioner (Margart Langfeld),
Anoka County Parks (Ron Cox),
Anoka County Highways (Jon Olson),
City of Hugo (Laurie McRostie, Robyn Lacasse),
City of Lino Lakes (Rick DeGardner),
Washington County (Jim Luger),
St Paul Water Utility (Jim Grauppmann)
From: Centerville Parks and Recreation, 651 -429 -3232
Wayne LeBlanc, 651 - 426 -0168 (home phone)
Date: September 15, 2000
You are invited to attend a meeting Monday, September 25, 2000, at 3PM at Centerville City
Hall, 1880 Main Street to discuss the attached trail proposal. I have confirmed attendance by
John Von Delinde from Anoka Parks, Rick DeGardner from Lino Lakes, Jim Grauppmann from
St Paul Water, and either Robyn Lacasse or Laurie McRostie from Hugo. I hope the rest of the
people will be able to make it or send representatives.
The purpose of this meeting is to:
1) share a vision for trails in the northeastern metropolitan area,
1) modiif' the vicinn if neeeccary to provide for plans or situations in the various communities,
and then to
3) identify the tasks and activities needed to coordinate people and organizations to a common
trail goal.
Right now, there is a terrific opportunity to implement a wonderful interconnected trail system.
A Minnesota Design Team visit to Centerville in 1998 provided the spark that connected the
Anoka Chain of Lakes Park trail with Centerville's largest park, Lamotte Park. Many other
opportunities are at hand. Most communities and organizations already have trail plans similar to
the proposal, and by bringing everyone together, differences may be resolved and a common
goal might be more easily and quickly accomplished.
Thank you and I hope to see you all September 25!
Wayne LeBlanc
