However we have always remained politein our ae gs
with —"
the Park and Rec. Committee. We have presented numerous other
locations
that are much better suited to a facility such as this. The Park and Rec.
Committee however cited that if the porta potty were located in these
areas
it would not be able to be maintained. I am attaching a copy of the
drawing I presented to the Park and Rec Committee, with 2 exceptions. I
have marked areas 3 and 4. When the Park and Rec Committee told us
that
the facility couldn't be maintained because of a 10 foot hose restriction.
1 have called 2 companies that rent portable toilets. The service the City
currently uses (On Site; 612.429.3781) has a 10 foot hose restriction,
another service (Biffs; 657.403.1227) has a 15 foot restriction. Both
areas 3 and 4 would easily be maintainable under either of these
restrictions.
No matter what the sire, we are also asking that the city build the
necessary accoutrements to a structure such as this to
Cement base
Wooden barrier enclosing the structure
Securing bolts to hold the porta potty in place
If the city did all of the above 1 am sure all of the neighboring residents
would not feel like they are being infringed upon.
My family and 1 have spent hundreds of dollars in tree trimming costs to
remove branches from a tree on city property that had branches
perilously
hanging over the play area. We spent time removing old barbed wire
from
the park. And now this. All in 1 years time. The cities response so far
has been somewhat cold. Sadly, even when I tried to volunteer my time
on
the Park and Rec Committee it was difficult for members of the
Committee to
look beyond this issue. Then on Friday, August 11 1 received a letter from
Jill Lien at the City of Centerville office stating that the City
encourages its residents to actively participate in city government
affairs. From all that has happened during the past few months our
perception is very different.
