Officer Hyde strongly recommends Centerville construct a skate park, stating <br /> "It's a good thing ". <br /> City of Monticello <br /> Kitty Baltos — Community Center Director <br /> Ms. Baltos explained that the installation at their skate park was completed on May 6 <br /> and was formally opened on May 13, 2000. She couldn't offer much as far as problems <br /> or concerns because there haven't been any yet. This is a permanent structure. She did <br /> have a lot of good things to say about True Ride. Ms. Baltos felt True Ride employees <br /> were very professional, gave excellent service and were a great help with analyzing the <br /> space available. She was impressed with the reference list, designing, suggestions and <br /> flexibility offered by True Ride employees. Although True Ride was a little more <br /> expensive than the other vendors they were considering, True Ride was obviously the <br /> best. The City of Monticello has just completed a 10 million dollar complex, which <br /> includes a Community Center, skate park, City Hall, etc. True Ride took care of <br /> everything involved in constructing and creating Monticello's skate park. Monticello is <br /> adding to their skate park every year in phases. Ms. Baltos stressed "This is a good thing <br /> — I recommend Centerville create a skate park ". <br /> The police were not polled due to the parks recent opening. <br /> Su- art <br /> In the conversations I have had with various cities and police departments, everyone I <br /> have spoke with has said the same, "This is a good thing, and I would definitely <br /> recommend it ". All were very positive and encouraging. I have come to the conclusion <br /> that there are many, many cities out there that offer some type of skate park. Some of the <br /> cities allow the use of BMX bikes at the skate parks, some don't. Most are insured <br /> through the League of MN Cities. All have stated it is a perfect place for the teens in the <br /> community to go. I think the teens of Centerville need somewhere to go and something <br /> to do, and I would like to further pursue this. I'd be more than happy and willing to <br /> continue working on this project. <br /> Thank you! <br /> 5 <br />
