Assistant <br /> Chief Aliva explained that there hasn't been very many problems with this skate park, <br /> and that it has had very little impact on the Roseville Police Department. He mentioned <br /> the park is approximately three years old and there has been very little vandalism (spray <br /> paint only). He also recommends a six (6) to eight (8) foot fence. <br /> City of Scandia <br /> Mille White — Works with parks in Scandia <br /> • Extremely used skate park <br /> • Helmets enforced <br /> • Parent volunteers maintain park <br /> • Most of the equipment was donated <br /> • No problems (only a couple of broken windows) <br /> • Located next to the Police Sub - station and Community Center <br /> • Have had the skate park for approximately five (5) years <br /> • Cement pad — 6" class five base with 7" concrete on top — "we built a <br /> highway" <br /> • Anything but bikes allowed <br /> • Insured through the League of MN Cities <br /> • Finds kids are pretty good about the upkeep — feels they do better when <br /> adults stay away <br /> • Used TKD Engineering Firm for equipment (Tom Pru 292 -4510) <br /> • Temporary structure — hockey rink in winter <br /> Police Concerns/Law Enforcement Standpoint <br /> I spoke with Officer Hyde of Washington County Sheriff's Office. Officer Hyde <br /> explained that there aren't many problems at any of the skate parks that he oversees. It is <br /> very rare that the Police Department will receive a call.
