Motion by Mr. LeBlanc, seconded by Mr. Porter to allocate the funds previously <br /> "ear- marked" for general lighting, toward the installation of the lighting at Laurie <br /> LaMotte Park. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Landscaping: <br /> Ms. DeVine explained that the landscaping is complete around three (3) of the park signs. <br /> She will use the leftover funds to "spruce up" the two (2) other park signs. <br /> Playground Equipment (Royal Meadows Park): <br /> Ms. DeVine explained the installation of the playground equipment on June 3` was a <br /> great success. There were several residents and teens present to help with the installation. <br /> Ms. Devine mentioned the fibar still needs to be delivered and installed. She will contact <br /> Harlan from MN/WI Playground Equipment and then Mr. Palzer regarding the fibar. Ms. <br /> DeVine has a list of volunteers she will give to Ms. Lien to send out thank you letters <br /> from the Parks and Recreation Committee. <br /> Mr. Navin commended Ms. DeVine and Mr. Porter on their efforts, stating this was a <br /> "big job — done well", adding the Robin Lane residents must be very happy. <br /> Donation of Lights from Rich DeFoe <br /> Ms. Lien explained that Mr. March had sent a letter to Mr. DeFoe requesting he specify <br /> what items specifically he is willing to donate to the City. As of this date, there has been <br /> no response from Mr. DeFoe. Mr. Navin will contact Mr. DeFoe regarding the donation. <br /> Basketball Hoops <br /> Mr. Porter explained he was considering two (2) types of basketball hoops to install at <br /> Eagle Park. There is the "old style" and the "new style ". The new style is guaranteed for <br /> life and is a better quality hoop. Mr. Porter estimated the cost for two (2) hoops at <br /> approximately $1600, with approximately $400 to Public Works for the installation. <br /> Motion by Mr. Navin, seconded by Mr. Porter to allocate $2,000 for basketball <br /> hoops at Eagle Park from the year 2000 Operation Budget, subject to two (2) hoops <br /> at a cost not to exceed $1,600. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Mr. Porter will coordinate the purchase, delivery and installation. The committee elected <br /> nylon nets over chain. <br /> Trail Maps to City Engineer <br /> Ms. Lien explained that she has spoke with both City Engineers, Tom Peterson and Dan <br /> Schluender regarding the request for trail maps for the Parks and Recreation Committee. <br /> They both felt it was a great idea, and are currently working on the project. <br /> Letter of Understanding Update <br /> Mr. LeBlanc explained that Jon Vondelinde (Anoka County Parks Director) contacted <br /> him regarding the letter Mr. LeBlanc had sent to him and the surrounding communities. <br /> Mr. Vondelinde suggested all of these communities get together to discuss the goals and <br /> 5 <br />
