Chief Heckman clarified the ability of riders to travel on Main Street from <br /> Centerville Road to Mill Road. Also, snowmobilers are to take the most direct <br /> route to where they are going. <br /> D. Nelson (Lino Lakes) gave the history of snowmobile banning in other <br /> communities, and stressed the importance of posting the ordinances at the trail <br /> entrances. <br /> LyNae Marshall (1580 Sorel Street) explained that snowmobilers are exceeding <br /> the speed limit when they are approaching Centerville Lake. She has come within <br /> inches of snowmobilers hitting her when she walks outside into her yard. <br /> Dan Saxton (1949 73r Street) requested the ordinances be posted on our cable <br /> channel (16). Mr. Saxton also stated that snowmobiling is a privilege and <br /> suggested creating a snowmobile "posse" to help inform citizens. <br /> Eric Larson (1957 73 Street) explained he has lived in Centerville since 1992. <br /> Mr. Larson polled the audience on how many were aware of the ordinances. He <br /> did not remember reading the newsletter. Mr. Larson mentioned Lino Lakes has a <br /> higher speed limit and longer hours of operation, adding that maybe this would be <br /> a solution. <br /> Ann St. George (1861 Pioneer Lane) stressed her concern about the safety of her <br /> children in her own yard. <br /> Randy Nugent (Lino Lakes) used to live in Centerville on Main Street and 20 <br /> Avenue. He would put snow fence up and the snowmobilers would go around it <br /> with no problem. <br /> Doug Woodbeck (Lino Lakes) stressed posting the rules, and aggressively <br /> arresting the offenders. <br /> Steve Dausch (7095 Cottonwood Court) is an avid snowmobiler and stressed <br /> stopping the offenders. <br /> M. Carter (Sumac Court) urged that snowmobilers MUST stop at uncontrolled <br /> intersections. <br /> Jim Scott (7084 Cottonwood Court) explained the need to work together. The <br /> City cannot legislate common sense. Mr. Scott suggested putting offenders <br /> names in the newspaper. <br /> Jeff Parr (6984 Meadow Circle) felt that all snowmobilers get a bad reputation <br /> because of a few that abuse the laws. <br /> • <br /> Brian Hanson (1950 Center Street) stated that he has snowmobilers cutting across <br /> his yard all of the time. <br /> Council Member Nelson questioned if there was anything missing? <br /> 4 <br />
