* I received a call from Greg Owens (President of the County Bank) yesterday. They are <br /> continuing to work on the proposed bank branch for the intersection of 21st Avenue and <br /> Main Street. Greg said that Shea Architects is working on the plans and they are aware <br /> 9 9 p <br /> that we want to build an entrance monument into the community on their property and they <br /> want to assist us in that task. Greg said that they have moved this issue to the front burner <br /> and he has a meeting arranged with the bank owner on April 14th to further discuss the <br /> matter. He plans to call me in a couple of weeks to give me the latest status report. Greg <br /> was in attendance at the stadium meeting and he indicated that he felt that the developer <br /> was not legitimate. <br /> * I spoke to County Assessor Todd Smith this week. The Board of Review is scheduled for <br /> 6:00 at our Council meeting next week. Todd indicated that he normally receives 50 -70 <br /> calls per year on this issue from Centerville and Lino Lakes residents. This year he has <br /> only received 14 calls, two from Centerville. Todd will have his laptop computer with him at <br /> the meeting and will use our Taxsys software to connect to the Anoka County records <br /> system. The purpose of the Board of Review is to hear from residents that think that their <br /> property valuation is too high. The valuations have not been keeping the pace with the <br /> actual fair market values of the properties, so I am not expecting much of a turnout to the <br /> meeting. <br /> 9 <br /> * Enjoy your weekend! <br /> 4/7/00 <br />
