COMMITTEE BUSINESS

Centennial Little League Use of Ball Fields at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park for 2010
Season

The Parks & Recreation Committee received a letter from the Centennial Lakes Little League
requesting the use of the Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park ball fields and the same service
provided by Public Works Staff in regards to grooming the fields prior to games. This would be
the same schedule as was approved in 2009. At this time, no other requests for the ball fields
have been received.

Motion was made by Committee Member Haiden, seconded by Committee Member
Peterson to recommend City Council approve the request from Centennial Lakes Little
League to use the three baseball and softball fields and facilities located at Laurie LaMotte
Memorial Park for the summer months of 2010 beginning April 1 through August 15,
Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. until dark with the same service provided by
Public Works Staff in regards to grooming the fields prior to games. All in Favor. Motion
passed unanimously.

2010 Fete des Lacs 8K Run Proposal

Committee Member Branch provided a proposal for the committee’s review. Committee
Member Branch was not in attendance so the committee tabled any action on this item until the
next scheduled committee meeting.

City Provided Email for Parks & Recreation Committee Members

City Council approved the Parks & Recreation Committee being provided City email accounts if
this was something the committee members wanted to use opposed to using personal email
accounts for City correspondence. All committee members would like City email and will
review it after a year to determine if it was beneficial.

Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Field Conditions

Committee Member Grahek questioned what had happened to the soccer field behind the hockey
rink as it was all rutted and tore up, stating perhaps it was caused by the lawn service while
aerating. Ms. Stephan will check with Public Works and report back to the committee.

3 of 4
