<br />. . <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Minutes of May 7, 1996 <br /> <br />Consensus ofP&Z that the city should not be involved due to the pond being on private <br />property. <br /> <br />Telecommunications <br /> <br />The city has received two requests for antennas. One from Sprint Spectrum to put an <br />antenna on the water tower. And one from TEA Group to erect another antenna tower <br />adjacent to the existing tower. <br /> <br />It was mentioned that the existing tower was a hot issue, a couple of public hearings were <br />held in order for them to build it. Wilharber added that the civil defense was turned down <br />for their alarm because it would have caused interference with the telecommunications. <br /> <br />Tourville stated that if it were a whip antenna to be installed on the water tower that he <br />would not have any objections. <br /> <br />Welk stated that the request for the new tower and water tower specifics are to vague to <br />make a recommendation. <br /> <br />P&Z request that staff obtain more information. <br /> <br />MUSA Application <br /> <br />Dean Johnson, Resource Strategies prepared an application for MUSA expansion to put <br />the entire Eagle Pass Development of 66 acres into MUSA. Mr. Johnson is confident that <br />Met Council will approve. <br /> <br />LaMorte stated that the lot sizes still bugs him (smaIl lot sizes). Welk added that she like <br />the open spaces. <br /> <br />MOTION by Welk, second by LaMotte to approve the MUSA application for the Eagle <br />Pass Development. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Comp Plan Discussion <br /> <br />P&Z commented about the downtown area being zoned "General Business" - creating a <br />separate zoning district for this special area. <br /> <br />P&Z had not other comments. <br /> <br />ADJOURN <br /> <br />MOTION by Welk, second by LaMotte to adjourn the regular meeting at 10:00 p.m. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />PZ5-7MM.WPS <br /> <br />5 <br />
