<br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> <br />TUESDAY, JANUARY 9, 1996 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City <br />ofCenterville held their regular meeting on Tuesday, January 9, 1996 at the City Hall. <br />Chairman Tourville called the public hearing to order at 7: 15 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Tourville <br />Welk <br />LaMotte <br />Councilmember Buckbee <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Drilling <br />Vermeulen <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />No residents present to discuss ordinance 44A. <br /> <br />Tourville stated the objective is to clean up the ordinance and clarify the type of building <br />everyone would like to see in Centerville and that P&Z would like to add it to Ordinance <br />4. <br /> <br />Councilmember Buckbee noted that Lino Lakes has a good description in their ordinance. <br />Buckbee also added that the size of the lot determines the size of the building in some <br />cities. <br /> <br />Rockey Goertz, Klosner-Goertz Homes, Inc., stated that he has a couple of pole barn <br />buildings in Lino Lakes used for commercial/industrial and when Lino Lakes changed their <br />ordinance 8-10 years ago to exclude pole buildings, Mr. Goertz said it was the best thing <br />they have done. Goertz still has his buildings their but due to the change in ordinance they <br />buildings in the surrounding area are of concrete and have increased the value of property. <br /> <br />Goertz also noted that Blaine is very vague on their description of building type but are <br />real thorough with a site plan review, therefore controlling what comes into their city. <br /> <br />MOTION by LaMotte, second by Welk to close the public hearing.
