<br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> <br />TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 1997 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of <br />Centerville held their regular meeting and a public hearing on April 1, 1997 at City Hall, 1880 <br />Main Street, Centerville, MN 55038. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Chairperson Dan Tourville <br />Kathy Welk <br />Allan LaMotte <br />Linda Broussard-Vickers <br />Tina Vermeulen <br /> <br />STAFF/CONSULTANTS: Jim March, City Administrator <br />Ry-Chel Gaustad, City Clerk <br />Mary Jo Helmbrecht, Planning and Zoning Liaison <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION FOR VARIANCE <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:10 P.M. <br /> <br />Chairperson Dan Tourville opened the public hearing to discuss a zero lot line variance request <br />from John Magill, Owner of Corner Express. Mr. Magill described expanding to a third stall car <br />wash. Mr. Tourville asked, '~as Eagle Trucking been notified of the zero lot line request?" Mr. <br />Magill explained, Mr. Huber of Eagle Trucking had been notified and did not have a problem with <br />theexpanmonreque~. <br /> <br />Mr. Tourville asked, if there has been much traffic on the south side of the building. Mr. Magill <br />replied that larger vehicles have a problem making the corner, although snowmobiles and other <br />vehicles use it and they do not have any problems making the corner. <br /> <br />Mr. Tourville explained past traffic congestion has been questioned in regards to accessing <br />County Road 14. Mr. Leon L' Allier, 1973 Main Street, commented the area is currently <br />experiencing more development which is likely to increase traffic congestion in the future. <br />Councilmember Helmbrecht commented the City Council has requested the County investigate <br />the traffic flow on 20th Avenue and Main Street. <br /> <br />Mr. LaMotte suggested angle parking to eliminate the parking and through traffic concerns.
