<br />Planning & Zoning Connnission <br />September 2, 2003 <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />with a landscaped curb to separate the entrance and exit. He then indicated that he had <br />reviewed the plan with the Fire Chief and he had no issues with it other than the wish to <br />have a fire hydrant on the way into the development. <br /> <br />Chair Hanson asked when construction would start. Mr. Kel1ier indicated they plan to <br />plat the units on the north side of the entrance drive and begin this fall. He then said they <br />would build out the other units as the market dictates. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes asked who would be responsible for maintaining the landscaped island. <br />Mr. Kel1ier indicated the association would be responsible for that. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Wilharber and seconded by Commissioner <br />Kilian to close the public hearin2. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Chair Hanson closed the public hearing at 6:53 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Wilharber and seconded by Commissioner <br />Kilian to recommend to Council approval of the site plan and indicate the <br />Commission has found no need for a parkin2 lot variance based on usin2 the 2round <br />floor square foota2e. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated this matter would be on next Wednesday's Council agenda. <br /> <br />III. APPEARANCES <br /> <br />1. Mr. John Thill (1375 Mound Trail) Concept Plan/Garage <br /> <br />This item was removed from the agenda as Mr. Thill was not in attendance. <br /> <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />V. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Ordinance #5 Firearms/Language Amendment Proposal <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated the Police Chief and the Fire Chief have asked for this <br />amended language to allow them to destroy confiscated firearms. She then indicated the <br />City Attorney has reviewed the language and his comments are provided. <br /> <br />Commissioner McLean asked what the police department is doing now with confiscated <br />weapons. Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated the police department is storing them in the <br />evidence room. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />
