Dave Lutz (7170 Shad Avenue) stressed that this park is not only for the residents of
Revoir Street. This is a City park, used by the entire City. It is essential to have a
satellite, and it must be accessible by the sanitation company.
Tedd Peterson (6933 Pheasant Lane) ecpressed his concerns about all of the parks having
a sanitation unit available. Mr. Peterson mentioned tha.t little kids don't give their parents
a ten-minute warning that they need to use the restroom, so they are forced to relieve
themselves behind a tree or something. Mr. Peterson felt satellites should be placed at
Eagle and Royal Meadows Parks.
Lauren Abrahamson (1868 Revoir Street) felt it would be more appropriate to "nestle it
into the park" rather than have it right out in the middle.
Mr. LeBlanc questioned the maintenance of the satellite.
Mr. Peterson explained that outside of placement ir2 the Spring and removal in the Fall,
the satellite needs to be maintained once a week. The servicing is done through the door,
so the contractor would have to drive over the trail to maintain the satellite.
Motion by Mr. Porter, seconded by Mr. LeStanc to place the satellite at the
northwest corner, with landscaping, from the tree budget. Porter, LeBlanc, Navin —
yea. DeVine — nay. Motion carried.
Ms. Travis wanted to express her thanks from her neighbors and the Travis' to the Park
and Recreation Committee, Aimee Fairbrother and the CNN for building such a beautiful
park for the children.
Ms. Fairbrother wanted to remind the Park and Recreation Committee of the path that
was supposed to be constructed around the structure.
Centerville Lions Club Proposal— Dave Lutz
Mr. Dave Lutz, President of the Centerville Lions Club, presented an offer to ihe Parks
and Recreation Committee for building a shelter in one of the parks within the City. Mr.
Lutz explained that the Spring Lake Park Lions Club has taken over the charitable
gambling at Kelly's Korner. The Spring Lake Park Lions are very aggressive, and
because of this, the Centerville Lions in conjunction with the City of Centerville, will be
receiving a lot of money to be used within the community. The Centerville Lions would
like io construct a shelter at Tracie McBride Park, or whatever park, the Parks and
Recreation Committee deems appropriate. The Lions are considering two shelters. One is
smaller, which only holds one picnic table. The other is a little larger, which will hold
two picnic tables. This shelter will be 100% paid for by the Lions Club. Mr. Lutz
stressed it is still being explored, but wanted to understand the desires of the Parks and
Recreation Committee before the Lions proceed. Mr. Lutz suggested tha.t the Parks and
Recreation Committee can make the proposal to the Lions, or the Lions can make the
proposal to the Parks and Recreation Committee. Mr. Lutz also stressed that the fourth
2
