Motion by Ms. DeVine, seconded by Mr. Porter to accept the GameTime proposal, <br /> to include benches/picnic tables/trash receptacles. All in favor. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> Landscaue <br /> Ms. DeVine explained that she received bids from Goetz Landscape & Irrigation, Inc. <br /> and Kline Design & Landscape Inc. Ms. DeVine received quotes for landscaping around <br /> the signs of Royal Meadows Park, Eagle Park and Acorn Creek Park (includes garden <br /> wall block). The bid from Goetz Landscape came in at $1,797.90 while the bid from <br /> Kline Design came in at $2399.7Q — both bids were for all three (3) parks. <br /> Motion by Ms. DeVine, seconded by Mr. Porter to hire Goetz Landscape & <br /> Irrigation, Inc. to install the landscaping around the signs at Royal Meadows Park, <br /> Eagle Park and Acorn Creek Park. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Ms. DeVine requested Ms. Lien send a letter of denial to Kline Design & Landscape. <br /> Laurie LaMotte Pazk Dedication <br /> Mr. Navin requested Ms. Lien compiie a list, going back 10 years, of past Park and <br /> Recreation Members to be invited to the dedication of Laurie LaMotte Park. Mr. Navin <br /> would like to see some participation from the Centennial Little League and the soccer <br /> club, adding that maybe we could get the Minnesota Twins or the Saints to make an <br /> appearance. Mr. Navin also requested Ms. Lien contact Patricia Scott to submit some �� <br /> type of advertising of the event in the local newsletter. <br /> The Committee elected to meet at Laurie LaMotte Park at 6:40 p.m. before the ne�ct Park I <br /> and Recreation Committee meeting scheduled for Apri15�', to "mark out" the trail � <br /> connection. <br /> Intern U,pdate <br /> Mr. Porter contacted the Posting Board at the University of Minnesota. Apparently there <br /> are four (4) to five (5) different majors to choose from. He felt the "Park and Recreation <br /> Degree" would be the best area with the biggest opportunities to look into. The intern <br /> would have to be a paid position, and will NOT receive credits. Mr. Porter suggested <br /> hiring a part-time person ranging from $7.00 to $11.00 per hour. He felt the person hired <br /> could work Saturdays for the entire summer, help coordinate events with the YMCA, and <br /> attend the Pazk and Recreation meetings. Mr. Navin felt it would be necessary for that <br /> person to also work with the Public Works Department during the week. <br /> The general consensus of the Committee was tha.t there may not be enough work for this <br /> type of position at this time. <br /> YMCA Update <br /> Mr. Darrell Silverness from the YMCA submitted a letter to Mr. March requesting the <br /> following: <br /> 5 <br />
