'` I v received numerous calls from citizens on Center Street, Sumac Court, Iv Court <br /> , ha e Y <br /> and Dupre Road in regards to the rezone request for the north Kenco lot at the intersection <br /> � of 20th Avenue and Center Street. The calls are 100% opposed to the idea of having <br /> apartments at this location. Many callers have said that this property needs to be <br /> developed as commercial. There should be a large turnout at the Planning and Zoning <br /> I public hearing next week. I have informed Mr. Drilling about the early opposition to this <br /> concept. Mr. Dri(ling has also fiied for a rezone request for the house across the street <br /> , from City Hall. This house would be demolished and the property would be rezoned to <br /> commercial. We sent the notices out for this public hearing and we have not heard any <br /> comme�ts. ! have spoke to a number of people that are in favor of this idea. The Quad <br /> never published the legal notice for this hearing, so this second hearing has been <br /> ' rescheduled for January. Mr. Drilling and the neighborhood have been notified of the <br /> hearing change. <br /> * I have only received one call from a gentleman who thought his taxes were too high on <br /> his new home. The taxes are $3000 per year. 1 assume this home is in Lakeland Hills. I <br /> have not had any other calls on residential �proAerty. I have had one call on a commercial <br /> property that had a large increase in the property valuation. I am not expecting much of a <br /> turn out for the truth in taxation hearing. I have spoke to numerous residents that have had <br /> significant decreases in their residential tax bill.
