� � � ��o � � <br /> G�''1/'��L�'Y;(r�1.�G�� <br /> ORDINANCE N0. 1221-A2 �-'�'�.C,7'J�� <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 1221 TO DELETE �,g-fG�C� <br /> PI.ANNING CQZiHISSION 2�2�ERS AS 2�ERS OF THE PARK BOARD, �� <br /> AND TO INCREA.SE THE NIIMBER OF RESIDENT ��HBERS <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDINA, MINNESOTA, ORDAINS: <br /> Section 1. Sec. 2 of Ordinance No. 1221 is hereby amended to read as <br /> follows: <br /> "Sec. 2. Membershiv. The Board shall consist of ten residents of the City <br /> appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the majority of the members of the <br /> City Council, plus one resident who is also a member of the School Board of <br /> Independent School District No. 273 and who shall be appointed by the School <br /> Board with the consent of a majority of the City Council. Members of the <br /> Board shall be appointed in January of each year, and their terms shall begin <br /> on the first day of February in the same year. The ten resident members <br /> (other than the School Board member) shall each serve for three years, and <br /> the terms of such members shall be staggered so that the terms of three of <br /> the ten resident members shaZl expire in each of two years, and the terms of <br /> four of the resident members shall expire in the third year. The member who <br /> is also a member of the said School Board shall serve for one year. Every <br /> member, before entering upon the discharge of his duties, shall take an oath <br /> that he will faithfully discharge the duties of his office." <br /> Sec. 2. Sec. 3 of Ordinance No. 1221 is hereby amended by deleting paragraph <br /> (f) and relettering paragraph (g) to paragraph (f) and amending the last, <br /> unlettered, paragraph of Sec. 3 to read as follows: <br /> "Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired portion o£ the term by the Mayor <br /> with the consent of a majority of the members of the City Council, except <br /> that a vacancy in the office of the member who is also a member of said <br /> School Board shall be filled for the unexpired portion of the term by said <br /> School Board with the consent of a majority of the City Council." <br /> Sec. 3.
