PUBLIC HEARING(S)

1.Ordinance #39 (Signage)

Chairperson Hanson opened the public hearing at 6:35 p.m.

Commissioner DeVine questioned the numbering format on Page 5 and requested that
same be corrected.

Commissioner Kilian expressed concern for allowing ten percent (10%) of a wall to be
covered in wall signage.

Mr. March explained the code contained strict guidelines as to the quality of signs
allowed, which would lead to increased costs for the signage. In light of the costs
involved, Mr. March stated that he did not believe it would be typical for a business to
invest in signs for all sides of the building.

Commissioner Kilian stated he desired to have wall signage limited to two (2) sides of a
building. Commissioner Kilian questioned the method used by the City in regulating
temporary signs. Mr. March explained that the previous ordinance had no time limit,
Page 1 of 4
