April 3, 2001

Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting Minutes
making it difficult for the City to have a sign removed. The new ordinance should be
easier to enforce.

Chairperson Hanson questioned if a business were to change the copy on a non-
complying sign, would the sign then have to be brought into compliance. Mr. March
stated he would contact the City Attorney in that regard. Mr. March stated that if a new
business came to town and was proposing signage on all four sides of the building, the
Commission could amend the ordinance.

Chairperson Hanson questioned whether painted signs were covered in the ordinance.
Mr. March reviewed the section of the ordinance pertaining to same.

Motion by Commissioner DeVine, seconded by Commissioner Kilian to close the
public hearing. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.

Chairperson Hanson closed the public hearing at 6:53 p.m.

III. APPEARANCES

None.

IV.
