City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />March 24, 2010 <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member <br />Broussard Vickers to authorize the request of Mr. and Mrs. Cunz, 7198 Shad <br />Avenue, Water Connection and Special Assessing of Associated Fees as submitted <br />by Staff. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />2. Mr. Paul Palzer, Building Official/Public Works Director Recommendation for <br /> Lawn Services <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson reviewed the background information from Public Works <br />Director/Building Official Palzer, on the 2010 + Mowing Proposals. Staff recommends <br />that the City contract with Goetz Property Maintenance & Landscaping for the 2010 and <br />possible 2011 and 2012 season for the mowing of the City’s properties. Staff also <br />recommends that the City contract with TruGreen for the turf chemical application for the <br />same time period. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council Member Love <br />to authorize the City’s mowing contract to Goetz Property Maintenance & <br />Landscaping and to authorize the chemical application contract to TruGreen as <br />recommended by Staff. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />3. Change Order No.3 – 2009 Street Improvements <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed background information stating that the change order <br />rd <br />provides for the repair to a 15” storm sewer at Quebec Street north of 73 Street. The <br />storm sewer had a 1” gas service directionally bored through the storm sewer pipe. The <br />existing storm sewer pipe was replaced along with the street section being restored. It <br />was noted that the damage was caused by the Gas Company. <br /> <br />Councilmember Broussard Vickers suggested that Staff send a bill to the gas company. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council Member Paar <br />to authorize Change Order #3, 2009 Street Improvements, for damage caused by the <br />Gas Company and direct Staff to bill the Gas Company. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />4. Forest Contracting, Pay Request #8 – 2009.02 2009 Street Improvement Project <br /> <br />City Engineer Statz reviewed background information on the liquidated damages. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Paar to <br />authorize Forest Contracting, Pay Request #8 – 2009.02 2009 Street Improvement <br />Project-$203,269.29. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />5. Forest Lake Contracting, Pay Request #8 – 2009.01 Peltier Lake Drive Project <br /> <br />City Engineer Statz and City Administrator reviewed background information on the <br />liquidated damages. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 6 <br /> <br />
