Flammabl� Waste Tra�s. <br /> Mr. Palzer explained to Councii that a flammable waste trap is a trap that catches salt, <br /> sand and #lammables such as gas and oil, and oniy allaws the water to flow into the City <br /> sewer. He e�alained the new public works buiid'mg does nQt have a flammable waste <br /> t�ap and is not cvnn��t�d to �ity sew�r. He rec�ntly was made awar� that th� waste from <br /> the public works building flows directly into the creek without being treated. He then <br /> explained it vvould cost approximately $35,000 tQ run City sewer and water and to add <br /> the �ammabls wast� traps. <br /> Counc�l Member Capra asked if the money could come out of sewer and water funds. <br /> Mayor Swedberg asked if the previous o�vner had an� Iiability to helg pay to remedy the <br /> � �i�uation. � <br /> City Attorney Hoeft stated he would need to investigate the issue but noted he felt it <br /> would be more cost beneficial for the City ta fix the problem rather than to try to get the <br /> previflus own�r tfl shar� in the costs t� d� so. <br /> II ' i Council Member Nelson questianed whether a portion of the improvements could be <br /> I � made or whether the entire expenditure was necessary.
