_ <br /> i <br /> , PART TIME STAFF <br /> � Mr. Palzer updated the committee regarding our request for part time staff to <br /> act as parks and recreation program coordinator. <br /> EMERGENCY VEHICLE ACCESS <br /> A request to allow emergency vehicles to drive on park trails was discussed. <br /> Chairman Porter will investigate. <br /> SHEAHY LAND <br /> Mr. Palzer updated the committee regarding the Sheahy land. Ms. Vickers <br /> stated this topic would be on the council agenda. <br /> TRAIL OVERLAYMENT <br /> Ms. Vickers updated the committee regarding the completion of the trail <br /> overlay per the developers agreement. <br /> WHEELS PARK PAY PHONE <br /> As the city council voted against installing a pay phone at the Wheels Park <br /> per Police Chief Heckman's recommendation as stated in his letter dated <br /> August 24, 2001. While the committee concurred Chief Heckman made <br /> valid points, the committee as a whole felt the phone should still be installed <br /> for public safety reasons. <br /> Motion b Mr. Peterson, seconded b Mr. Lee, to recommend council I <br /> Y Y <br /> revisit the request to install a pay phone as previously requested. <br /> All in Favor: Motion carried Unanimously. <br /> GROUND DEVELOPMENT <br /> Ms. Vickers updated the committee on the Pheasant March trail. Discussion <br /> ensued. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> WHEEL PARK ISSUES <br /> As there have been significant complaints regarding the conduct of some <br /> individuals using the Wheel Park, the committee discussed possible actions <br /> to correct these issues. Possible measures include setting park hours, hiring <br /> an attendant, removing some or all of the equipment, remove the player's <br /> boxes, charging for admittance, etc. Public works instructed to remove one <br /> � apparatus. Discussion ensued. � <br />
