.. <br /> Apri13, 2001 <br /> Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> Commissioner Kilian stated he desired to have wall signage limited to two (2) sides of a <br /> building. Commissioner Kilian questioned the method used by the City in regulating <br /> temporary signs. Mr. March explained that the previous ordinance had no time limit, <br /> making it difficult far the City to have a sign removed. The new ordinance should be <br /> easierto enforce. <br /> Chairperson Hanson questioned if a business were to change the copy on a non- <br /> complying sign, would the sign then be brought into compliance. Mr. March stated he <br /> contact the City Attorney in that regaxd. Mr. March stated that if a new business came to <br /> town and was proposing signage on all four sides of the building, the Commission could <br /> amend the ordinance. <br /> Chairperson Hanson questioned whether painted signs were covered in the ordinance. <br /> Mr. March reviewed the section of the ordinance pertaining to same. <br /> Motion b�Commissioner DeVine, seconded by Commissioner Kilian to close the <br /> �ublic hearing. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslk. <br /> Chairperson Hanson closed the public hearing at 6:53 p.m. <br /> III. APPEARANCES <br /> None. <br /> IV. OLD BUSINESS <br /> None. <br /> V. NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. Ordinance #39 (Signage) <br /> Chairperson Hanson stated he would prefer to forward Ordinance #39 to Council and <br /> amend it later if needed. <br /> Motion bv Commissioner McLean, seconded by Commissioner DeVine to <br /> recommend Council apurove Ordinance #39 as amended. All in favor. Motion <br /> carried unanimouslv. <br /> I 2. Comprehensive Plan Amendments <br /> Mr. March requested that the Commission review the proposed modifications to the <br /> Comprehensive Plan and contact him with comments or questions. Mr. March also <br /> requested that the Commission notify him if they need to obtain a copy of the <br /> Comprehensive Plan. <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br />
