He aLso questioned the possbility of <br /> changing the status of a five (5)-member committee to a seven ('�-member committee. <br /> Ms. DeVine exp}ained. that in the past, the Parks and Reereation Committee members <br /> , elected to maintain a five (5)-member committee, add"ang trying to recruit two (2) <br /> additional members and to maintain seven (7)-members consistently could be very hard. <br /> Councilmember Vickers explained that t�e by-1a.ws could be amended to refleet a <br /> majority rule — regazdless of the number of inembers attending the meeting. Ms. Vickers <br /> also questioned the statistics of attendance and age brackets at skate pazks within <br /> commtinities of the same saze and population. She felt this would be important <br /> informa.tion for planning for the growth of Centerville. <br /> Mr. Peterson shared that since he has asswned the responsibility managing the rink ' <br /> attendants and the warming house, he has been having the attendants document how � <br /> many people use the rink on a daily basis. AdclitionalIy, several youth, since hearing i <br /> about the possibility of a skate park have approached him questioning the status of such I <br /> pazk. We have not heard from Mr. Silverness <br /> to date. Ms. Lien will contact Mr. Silverness and update the committee at the March <br /> ` meeting. - <br /> 3 <br />
