Ms. Scott mentioned that she had I <br /> three issues she wanted to discuss with EDC. First: To obtain a picture of the EDC committee for the , <br /> Newsletter. Second: Earth Day, Apri121, 2001. Ms. Scott stated that she is working at Wazgo Nature <br /> Center as a Naturalist and is Centerville's representative along with Ms Bender for Earth Day. She stated <br /> that Ms. Bender and herself went to Goetz Landscaping to see if they were willing to get involved with <br /> Earth Day. Goetz Landscape is willing to look into the cost on seed packets or seedlings for Earth Day. <br /> Ms. Scott stated that Ms. Bender was checking irrto the cost of T-Shirts. Ms. Scott also mentioned that <br /> they were considering having a coloring contest fo�r Earth Day. Third: Newsletter. Ms. Scott stated that <br /> the Newsletter is a way of informing the public of each committee activity and if there was any <br /> infom�ation that EDC would I�e published, to let her laiow, <br /> Mayor Tim Swedberg, Council Members Capra, Nelson, Travis and the City Administrator, Jim March <br /> also attended this meeting. <br /> Mayor Swedberg commented on the `Big L" shaped commercial property Iocated on the north side of the <br /> Highway by the County Bank and the County Bank's design. He stated having commercial and <br /> industrial businesses in Centerville would help reduce the tax base for the citizens. Mayor Swedberg <br /> stated that azchitectural designs aze important and need to be tied in with the old downtown theme. <br /> Mayor Swedberg informed EDC that there was a petition that was submitted to Council at the ]ast <br /> meeting regarding water and streetscapes for the old downtown area. <br />
