Letter from Don Schoenberger I
Mayor Swedberg explained Mr. Schoenberger who lives at 7018 Dupre Road has had a
problem with Waste Management, as his garbage was not picked up.
Council Member Capra asked Mr. March if this mistake could be attributed to garbage
pick up being on a holiday schedule for the week in question.
Mr. March indicated twice Waste Management told Mr. Schoenberger that his garbage
would be picked up later that day but it was not. Waste Management ltasn't responded to
the complaint yet, however, the customer service person lives in Centerville and has been
very responsive on other occasions. Mr. March believes she is out on vacation. Mr.
March stated sometimes there is problems with pick up when the reguiar driver is off and
there is a substitute driver. This appears to be an isolated incident and Mr. March will
talk to the General Manager of Waste Management and ask that this issue be addressed.
Council Member Nelson stated she would like to have Waste Management deal with the
issue in writing and copy Council.
Council Member Travis indicated this appears to be an isolated incident and the
suggestion to have more than one garbage hauler in the City is not the answer. Waste
Management appears to have a gaod system in place for dealing with customer service
issues and he is satisfied the issue will be handled properly.
